This young athlete has impressive social media following
Kai Trump can count on multiple well-known supporters as she makes her professional golf debut later this week.
This teenage golfer, who happens to be the granddaughter of Donald Trump, was granted a sponsor's invitation to play at the Annika competition in Florida.
Her grandfather, an avid golfer, owns multiple golf courses and regularly plays against his granddaughter.
"He's pretty good. I can't say much but we have competitive games," she revealed.
She mentioned that Trump, unable to come, advised her: "Just stay calm."
"My grandpa essentially advised me to play and relax," she continued.
"In my eyes, he's simply a normal grandpa. He's not attending this weekend. He's occupied with presidential duties, so he's somewhat preoccupied."
As an amateur, the golfer has competed in a mere three competitions in 2024 and maintains ranking 461 in AJGA standings.
However she can get advice from golf legend, who is dating Kai's mother.
"He represents the greatest golfer in the world," Kai stated.
"And he's an even better person. He told me to compete, relax, adapting to the flow."
Kai will face several top competitors in professional golf at the competition, such as world number two the champion, British golfer Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.
The LPGA mentioned that involving Kai exposes the sport to new audiences, particularly reaching younger fans.
The social media influencer boasts substantial online presence and recently launched her own fashion and living label.
The competition starts at 17:30 GMT.
