Barça Set to Play First Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend

Barça revealed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in La Liga over two years since relocating so building work could begin.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available with 45,401 fans are permitted inside based on approved permits. Once fully finished, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. The club said finished work included an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.

Preparatory Events

Barça organized an open training session on the home pitch earlier this month. The club said they are seeking authorization by UEFA to play their next home Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
